E-commerce company Amazon India has recently started a skill development program. Through this program, the company is bringing new job opportunities for the youth.
World Youth Skill Day takes place on 15 July and India has over 600 million youth who are hotspots for global companies in search of talent. But, due to Coronavirus, Slowdown has caused coffee problems of people. Meanwhile, e-commerce company Amazon India has recently started a skill development program. Through this program, the company is bringing new job opportunities for the youth.
The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a new program of the company. According to the company, the aim of this program is to connect 1000 youth and become capable. According to the company, in this program, training for warehousing and inventory management will be given to the youth for 6 months. This will enable him to play the role of Warehouse Associates and Process Associates. This program is specially for the youth, whose training and placement has been affected by the Kovid-19 epidemic.
The training centers for this program are located in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, where classroom to on-the-job learning and assessment will be done. The youth will be selected from several sources, including NSDC-Accredited Training Centers (DDU-GKY Centers) and NSDC Skilling Database.
The company will also provide monthly stipends for the youth participating under this program. Also, at the end of this training program, the Youth Assessment will be done by the Logistic Sector Skill Council and after the evaluation, they will also get a certificate. Youth will also get opportunities like current seasonal or full time jobs.
According to the company, all training sessions will be done keeping in mind the health and safety. In this, social distancing and regular sanitization will be done. Along with this program, Amazon India will contribute to the government's commitment towards making the youth self-reliant and better.
